Vice Chairman at Vornado Realty Trust

David R. Greenbaum is the Vice Chairman of Vornado Realty Trust, one of the largest owners and managers of commercial real estate in the United States. A former tax attorney at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, Mr. Greenbaum transitioned into real estate in 1982 when he joined The Mendik Company, a prominent private owner of commercial real estate properties in New York City. He rose to become President of The Mendik Company in 1990 and joined Vornado in 1997 when the firm merged into Vornado Realty Trust, where he served as President of the New York Division for over two decades before being appointed Vice Chairman in April 2019. Throughout his tenure at Vornado, Mr. Greenbaum has overseen an extensive commercial real estate portfolio encompassing more than 80 buildings and over 30 million square feet in New York City. He has directed all aspects of the New York City portfolio including ground-up development, redevelopment, leasing, and building operations, and has led transformative projects such as Bloomberg Tower at 731 Lexington Avenue and Vornado's multi-billion-dollar Penn District modernization initiative. Mr. Greenbaum is deeply engaged in civic and industry leadership. He is a Trustee and member of the Executive Committee of the Citizens Budget Commission, a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors of the Real Estate Board of New York, and serves on the Boards of Directors for the 34th Street Partnership, The Grand Central Partnership, and the Times Square Alliance. He is the 2010 recipient of the Bernard H. Mendik Lifetime Achievement Award and was awarded the 2020 Harry B. Helmsley Distinguished New Yorker Award by the Real Estate Board of New York.
